Ripley Parish is situated to the North East of Guildford, bypassed by the A3 which enables the parish to retain its rural atmosphere. The Parish has a population of approximately 2000. Most of the village has been designated as a Conservation Area by Guilford Borough Council and retains many historic buildings.
In the past, the village was an important stopping point for naval officers en route from the Admiralty to the Royal Dockyard at Portsmouth and there is still a thriving business community ranging from small shops to light industry with several restaurants and pubs.
Several events are held on the large village Green including a thriving monthly Farmers’ Market, the Annual Bonfire Celebration and Firework Display and the Ripley Event held in July.
Meet at 10.00am on Saturday 20th March in the Village Hall Car Park.
All equipment including gloves and litter pickers provided.
All ages welcome.
